Sarah Blackmun, Executive Vice President
As
Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of The Pangaea
Network, Inc., Sarah Haviland Blackmun is responsible for forging strategic alliances and
directing sales, marketing and product development. She is chartered with establishing
integral affiliations with academe, business, and government agencies, implementing new
clientele relationships and marketing institutional, academic and direct response
strategies and materials, that extend Pangaea's influence and opportunities in the online
environment. Ms. Blackmun's experience and insight also contribute to guiding Pangaea's
continued growth and market leadership.
Ms. Blackmun's professional life spans thirty-five years of experience working with
faculty and developers of print, video, software, CD-ROM, and multimedia programs for the
higher education and training markets. Her career profile includes over twelve years of
experience with Harcourt Brace and Company, Inc., as Senior Vice President of the
Publishing Group. As President of Harcourt Brace International, she directed
this highly profitable $8
million marketing and sales division; as CEO of the Media Systems Corporation, she headed
Harcourt's $6 million college-level media publishing company; and as Vice President of
Media Systems Corp.'s product development, she directed the creation of multimedia
learning systems that generated $17 million in sales. Prior to joining Harcourt, she held
executive sales and marketing management positions at Appleton Century Crofts, Inc., and
Prentice-Hall, Inc., where she was responsible for directing publication programs,
developing multimedia instructional systems and designing aggressive corporate marketing
programs. Ms. Blackmun earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts at Ohio Wesleyan
University and earned a Master of Arts at Bowling Green University. Ms.
